Rotation 7: Chapter 4: The Van Bakker's

 

    Lucy Rhoda Van Bakker has aged up into a child. Sadly later that day she collapsed and Anthony ran to get the new doctor but it was to late she was unconscious and Dr.Gulley said that she was dead. Esther was devastated with this after 2 miscarriages. She could not help but have flashbacks of her mother's births and the deaths of her siblings. Apparently she fainted in the midst of her flashbacks. Everyone was relieved that she woke up and the doctor even told her that she was with child which brightened the mood, but Esther could not get it out of her head what happened to her mother and siblings. 

    Anthony successfully made a candle! Which was a big deal in the family as they finally could start building up their candle inventory to open a business! Took a whole generation and for Anthony to have 17 days till elderhood for this moment! So the whole family freaked out and played tons of games to commemorate the moment. 

    Anthony jumped at the opportunity to look in the coster career. Money is deeply needed for his growing family and they still cannot start the candle business. He will have long hours which may not help with Esther and her sanity. But knowing Esther she will be able to handle it all. 

    The only thing keeping Esther stable is her remaining children. She feels deeply connected to little Margaret. Hugo being the only boy of the family he of course holds a special place in her hurt but Margaret just feels special and of course she loves the older girls with her whole heart. 

    Esther's 7th pregnancy has for sure been a hard one. After the 5th and 6th pregnancies ending in miscarriage she knows she has to be extra careful but it is hard with four kids and a husband busy away at work. Plus after since the death of Lucy she has been experiencing night terrors. 

    The twins have aged up into toddlers. Margaret Odith looks very much like a Van Bakker while her twin, Hugo Anthony looks very O'Hara. I can tell Margaret has her mother's nose which may be her downfall but I hope she will grow into it!

    Millvina has aged up into a child. She looks much like her older sisters, Lucy and Emma(Gotta love good old firstborn syndrome)!

    Mae Gulley has came home from school with Millvina. The two girls look very similar and with Mae being an upper middle class sim and the daughter of a doctor it really is a good friendship!

    Millvina is always the first one to greet her father after he comes home from a long day as a Vegetable Coster. They have a special bond and Esther is glad as she feels her daughters need a loving male figure as she sure did not have one. 

    Even though Esther and Anthony are lower class and desperate of money and have lost children, their love has remained in tact. Truly representing the vows of for better or worse. I really love the pair together. First thinking they would be an arranged marriage of two friends but they fell in love and try to make the best of what they have to hold dear. 

    Antony Van Bakker died while painting in the middle of the night. He died of a cold he contracted while at work. He leaves behind four living kids and a pregnant distraught widow. First thing Esther did was console her two daughters as the other two kids were toddlers and would sadly have no memories of their great handsome father. Emma was terrified scared that illness would take her mother and poor Millvina was shaking. Esther will forever stick to the fact she refuses to become like her mother who gave up on her living family after losing so many kids. Esther and Della were the parents to their younger siblings. They both saw siblings they raised die but they kept trying their hardest to be parents to Olive and Jack. Their father busy at work and not caring, their mother depressed and not herself. Jack's parents practically were Della and Esther till they moved out and Olive was fortunate enough to be young around the time Anna snapped out of it. Esther knew she would have to keep fighting, living, and staying strong she had four kids and was expecting more. She could not be the next Anna Fitz O'Hara. She was not her mother and she would die trying to make sure she wasn't! With Anthony's death the house and property will pass to toddler Hugo. (I was shocked myself. Anthony was meant to die as an adult and I was planning on killing him during his wife's next pregnancy but of course sims 2 being sims 2 it has to throw this curveball).

    Emma Della Van Bakker has aged up into a teenager. She is wearing a hand-me-down of her mother's as must be done. Emma is a pleasure sim with turn-ons of brunette and fitness and an turn-off of jewelry. She has the traits Bookworm and Social Butterfly. She still dreams of fashionable dresses and loves to read romance novels. But she knows what comes first is helping her poor mother. One thing that crushes her soul is hearing her mother crying out at night for Anthony and Della. Emma knows her mother misses her sister, and Emma feels thankful to at least know she got to meet her mother's dear twin when she was a babe, of course she has no memories. But she loves hearing mother tell her how much Aunt Della used to love spending time with her. She also hates wearing such a bright-colored dress but her mother agreed that they need to save up money so simply mourning clothes are not an option.  

    Antra Abbott was born on a clear fall morning. He appeared to be as strong as a norse warrior, or so his mother thought. This baby by far was her loudest and chunkiest baby. Little Antra Abbott Van Bakker was the last gift from her husband. And she thanked god numerous times for how healthy he looked. She felt so much luckier than her mother, she had five wonderful seemingly healthy kids! Plus Emma was now a teen, Esther could hardly even believe that!

    Esther felt like it was time for a new hairdo to mark this new chapter of her life. She may have forever lost her other half but she is strong beyond belief. Plus with little Antra she just feels so relieved that her children are all healthy and safe! She does not know what the future holds but she for sure knows it is time to give up on this damn candle business idea. Her husband and his father both spent their whole lives poor to follow this dream that never truly worked out. Esther has no clue what is next but she knows she must remain home and try to figure out where to gear the future of the Van Bakker family. Her brother with his fruit orchard and a big house, her sister Olive married to a vegetable farmer who will surely open a grocery, and with her twin living contently in New Whitby she does not know what to do. 

    Emma is such a good big sister. She enjoys taking care of her young siblings specially toddlers Hugo and Margaret. But she still does love to read her romance books! 

    Esther was so pleased to find out her nephew George came home with Millvina. George has lived his whole life in a big house living a fancier life so for him to be here is quite an experience. 

    The twins aged up into children. Hugo Anthony got the Perfectionist trait and looks alot like an O'Hara while Margaret Odith got the Loner triat and looks quite like an Van Bakker. 

    Millvina Antonia died of the cold that her father caught from his work. Even tho this crushed the soul of the family even more Esther remainded headstrong and soon the family was focused on the happy thoughts. 

    Antra Abbott Van Bakker has aged up into a toddler and reminds his mother much of her late husband with his dark raven hair and olive skin.

    Esther misses her sister dearly and has mailed her letter to her dear twin sister. Life has not been kind to Esther recently but she always looks for the best in everything which is of course her precious children who are the reason she stays strong and fights on!

    "Dear Della,

            Much has happened since my last letter to you. Our father has died and I would say with some regrets. Our younger sister, Olive is well and has some splendid kids. As well our brother, Jack and his wife have had quite a few kids but sadly recently lost two girls of the names Alice and Frances. I suffered two miscarriages after my own set of twins were born, but after those losses I was blessed with a very strong large son named Antra. Two of my own daughters have met God and are resting with our dear family. But Antra just brings so much joy and hope. Emma is now a teen as you know and I feel she deserves better than I, which makes me feel she needs a dowry to get a good marriage. Which you know is quite an enormous thing as Anthony and his father's financials were not the strongest. We have been sitting on 3,000 which I hope can go towards a marriage with Roy Brady. My other kids have been doing well, Hugo and Margaret are both in great health and Antra of course is a strong one which gives me much relief. I hope you and the twins are in a state of good health plus little Percy! I have become widowed and am trying my best to manage a household and be a good mother. I miss you very much my dear sister and friend. Give the kids my blessings!
