Rotation 5: Chapter 4: The Van Bakker's

 

    "Della, we both know you and the baby will never be able to live in comfort here. And that you don't want to stay as it will ruin our family. So Anthony helped me come up with a plan...," Esther said to her twin sister.

    " I wasn't expecting that you two would be able to help me this much," Della said very quickly almost as if she couldn't breathe till she heard the plan. 

    "So Mr. Brady's nephew has been staying with them. He has been trying to see if our town is ready for a printer. And Mr. O'Neilly, that's the nephew he has decided that Alfreda Isle is too small to have a printer. He and Anthony have become close friends and I know you said not to share your current situation with anyone. But this man is really kind-,"           

"Esther I am not getting married to some man I don't even know!," Della said her voice shaking. 

"Della, you think I would suggest that! He is leaving town and has agreed to take you with him. He thinks maybe you could say your his former sister-in-law and say your a pregnant widow traveling with your brother-in-law to start a new life," Esther was nervous saying all of this to her emotional sister who has had a broken heart and had to live with the sin of having relations with a man before marriage. But to Esther none of her sister's choices mattered all that mattered was that Della and her baby were going to be okay.  

"I have to lie down," Della responded walking away trying to not let her sister see her tears. Why did this have to happen to her! What did she do wrong? She thought he was the love of her life, he promised marriage, she sacrificed her soul and dignity to him. How could she have been so naïve!    

     

Esther and Anthony are so madly in love. Even though she is with child they cannot keep their hands off each other. The pair both really want many kids as Anthony was an only child and would love to be apart of a large family like Esther was. Esther just prays that she doesn't lose as many children as her mother.

Esther had a rough long labor, but made it out with a gorgeous baby girl. She was so glad she had the support from her sister, who was quite mortified after seeing the birth. Everyone meet the first of generation three, Emma Della Van Bakker!

Della is enjoying spending time with her little niece. It just seems crazy to her that she and Esther will both be mothers so soon. It saddens her that she won't see Emma grow up but she knows that she and Esther will write frequently. Seeing the birth reminded Della of her parents and how hard it must be for them and her other siblings not to see her. But Della knows that it must be this way for the best interest of their future in Alfreda Isle.

Della has been crying all morning as she knows today is the day she must leave her home and never come back. Della and Esther have both been crying over Emma's crib all morning. It is really depressing for both of them as they only really had each other with their father ignoring them as they weren't boys and with their mother's depression. Esther made Della promise on the bible to write frequent. Esther also already told her parents that Della is moving south for her health as the weather is better down there.

Esther and Della in deep embrace before she must go into the carriage to travel with Mr. O'Neilly to her new life. 

"Della please live a happy life. Don't ever forget to kiss that baby for me," Esther choked up crying. 

"Esther I will write to you from New Whitby. Who knows maybe I can have a little orchard there and sell fruit," Della said smiling through her tears. The sisters once again held each other tightly and then Della went to kiss her niece then leave in the carriage to her new life. 

Anthony enjoys spending time with his daughter! He doesn't care if he ever even has a son he just wants a large family and a successful business. Emma will definitely be spoiled with love, sadly her grandfather Ernst doesn't seem to care much about her. 

Esther Grace O'Hara Van Bakker has aged up into an adult! And she is also with child for the second time!

Ernst Van Bakker has aged up into an elder and he is still attractive!

Anthony has aged up into an adult! He wants to help his father finally kick off the candle business as he wants to provide his kids with a upbringing in a better financial situation.  

Anna came over for a visit with her daughter, Esther. She also got to meet her first grandchild which was a moment to her that meant the world. 

Emma Della Van Bakker has aged up. Her brown hair is interesting as both her grandmothers had brown hair! Otherwise she looks like her mother did as a toddler but she has her father's skin tone. 

Lucy Rhoda has been born in a labor that was better than the one with Emma. Lucy is a strong wailing baby much to everyone's relief.
